Giants wrap up Beckham with record deal for a wide receiver

The New York Giants and star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. ended months of speculation and suspense on Monday when they agreed to a five-year, $95 million contract extension with $65 million guaranteed. The deal makes Beckham the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history.

The guaranteed money of $65 million is the third-highest in the league behind Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan ($94.5M) and quarterback Kirk Cousins of the Vikings ($84M). That $65 million also includes $41 million at signing and $24 million in injury protection guarantees.

The new money average for Beckham, which does not include the fifth-year option on his rookie contract, is in excess of $18 million per season. He will also average roughly $20 million per season over the first three years of the extension.

Beckham, 25, will be locked up until the 2023 season.
