New York Giants Update for Dec 6: Collins lost for season; Week 14 PODCAST

Here’s your New York Giants update for December 6….

Shoulder injury does in Landon Collins for the season

Safety Landon Collins has apparently been lost for the rest of the season with a shoulder injury. He is reportedly going to hav surgery which will send him to season-ending IR.

“He’s got a shoulder injury that most likely will require surgery,” said head coach Pat Shurmur. “That hasn’t one hundred percent been finalized, so he’s going through that process. He’s been trying to get that evaluated for the last couple of days.”

When asked to sum up Collins’ season, Shurmur was frank in his assessment.

“Landon displays what he is, he’s a very tough guy, very good tackler, he’s made a lot of plays for us, especially close to the line of scrimmage. I’ve said it numerous times, in a sport where toughness is required, he’s got a lot of it, so that’s what I appreciate about him.”

The Giants practiced Wednesday in preparation for their upcoming game against the reeling Washington Redskins this Sunday. In addition to Collins, LB Lorenzo Carter (Hip), LB Tae Davis (Ankle) also did not practice. TE Evan Engram (Hamstring) LB B.J. Goodson (Neck) and WR Sterling Shepard (Rib) were all limited.
