The Giant Insider: Wednesday Roundup
- Updated: December 19, 2018

The New York Giants began preparing for their upcoming trip to Indianapolis to face the 8-6 Colts who have won seven of their last eight games. Here’s the roundup from Wednesday…
INJURY/PRACTICE REPORT
Did Not Participate in Practice: WR Odell Beckham Jr. (Quad), LB Alec Ogletree (Concussion), C Spencer Pulley (Calf), WR Russell Shepard (Ankle), S Michael Thomas (Not Injury Related)
Limited Participation in Practice: DL Kerry Wynn (Thumb)
Pat Shurmur: “Alec Ogletree came in today not feeling well, so he won’t be out there. Michael Thomas, I excused him for personal reasons, just dealing with illness in the family, so you won’t see him there. Otherwise, the injured players that you know about – Odell, Spencer Pulley and Russell Shepard probably won’t be doing much, if anything. Probably nothing. And I say that because there’s times when I have this meeting after a walk-thru and there’s times when they feel a little better as the day goes on so we see what they can do, so that’s where we’re at. Then Kerry Wynn’s got a little thumb deal that he’ll be limited.”
On Odell Beckham’s status….“He feels better than he did last week…at this point, I think it’s a player’s responsibility to do everything they can to get on the field and get back into games. We’re coaches and players, and we play the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, so it’s important that we do everything we can to show up.”
News
Three Giants were named to the NFC roster for the 2019 Pro Bowl: RB Saquon Barkley, safety Landon Collins and PK Alrdrick Rosas. This is Collins’ third selection to the game but will no participate as he is on season-ending IR after shoulder surgery. This is the first selection for Rosas, who was a rookie last season. Naturally, this will be Barkley’s first trip to the Pro Bowl.
Pat Shurmur: “I’m happy for the guys that are recognized and certainly in his case, he’s (Rosas) recognized for having a terrific year. He’s made some amazing kicks and he’s done a great job with his kickoffs. He had one that went out of bounds, he gets one in a career I told him, so that was his only one. But, no, I’ve been pleased with what he’s done this year. You hate to say you have favorite players, but he’s one of my favorites. You’ve heard me talk about how he’s not just a kicker, he’s a football player. He’s a big guy, he’s got a presence, and he’s competitive. So I appreciate all the good in Aldrick and the fact that he was recognized is great.”
The Giants placed DB/ST Antonio Hamilton (quad) on season ending IR and activated WR Cody Latimer from the IR list.
TWEETS
Barkley on his physical condition: "I feel good. I'm not going to lie and say I feel 100 percent. No one is 100 percent at this point."

Interesting fact: In the years 1985-2008, the Giants and Jets did not play in the same time slot. This year, both teams will play in same time slot six times. Why? Well, I (Chris) believe it's because of the flex schedule and more importantly- both teams are not good.
